How do you serve in the church or community?

I co-lead a community group with my husband. We call ourselves the Team Frisbie Community Group. I am also the assistant coach for IL Heat Club Volleyball 15s and 17s.

 

What is one thing that’s helped you be a disciple of Jesus?

Trusting in God’s promises when tithing and witnessing his blessings that follow.

Romans 8:31  “What then shall we say in response to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us?

 

How do you serve in the church or community?

I serve frequently as an usher during church services, and I will be joining the Men’s ministry this year.  Outside of church, I volunteer as a youth softball coach.

 

What is one thing that’s helped you be a disciple of Jesus?

My wife and my family!  After attending Church and Sunday school frequently as a child, I parted ways with the Church for some time until my wife Wendy motivated me to re-engage.  We found Bethel and have fallen in love with the Church and the people, and we feel re-connected with Christ.

What’s a favorite verse of yours?

Hebrews 2:8-9, “In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them. But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.”

 

How do you serve in the church or community?

I serve the church by helping with Vacation Bible School and all physical changes made to the church and parsonage including decorating the church for Christmas. My community service is by participating in Meals on Wheels, Mascoutah Blood Drive and meals for the Leu Civic Center.

 

What is one thing that’s helped you be a disciple of Jesus?

As a child,I grew up in church. My family was there 5 times per week. Jesus and the church have always been important part of my life and participation in Ladies Bible Study has helped me grow as a Christian and share Jesus with others.

What’s a favorite verse of yours?

Exodus 33: 18-23, “Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” Then the Lord said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.”

 

How do you serve in the church or community?

I love to sing in the choir.

 

What is one thing that’s helped you be a disciple of Jesus?

I try to read my study Bible every night.  (So far, I’ve read the New Testament and the Old Testament as far as 2 Samuel.  A complete read of the Bible is my goal, and then read again.)

Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it’s own”

 

How do you serve in the church or community?

I help out as a Y4G leader, slide technician, back-up sound board operator, usher, communion steward, and help out wherever needed.

 

What is one thing that’s helped you be a disciple of Jesus?

I have a loving mother who raised me as a Christian and continues to be a great role model for me.

What’s a favorite verse or yours?

Phillipians 4:6….the bible states “ Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Sharon’s version is If your are going to pray, then don’t worry but if you are going to worry, don’t pray!

 

How do you serve in the church of community?

I serve in the sound/audio visual booth weekly by creating slides for worship services and recording our services on Facebook Live.

 

What is one thing that’s helped you be a disciple of Jesus?

First and foremost…..being in church every week and applying the message to everyday life and COMMUNITY GROUP…..this helps to get deeper into the Word and learn more about myself and my walk with Christ.
